The EP-1P Loudspeaker is an alternative prototype of the EP-1 Loudspeaker. The main difference is the use of Peerless drivers instead of Vifa. The Peerless cones are made out of a plasticized material, while the Vifas are fabricated from treated paper.   The advantage of the Peerless drivers is that they are +2dB more efficient and go down half an octave lower. The disadvantage is that because of the heavier material, they do not have the degree of "snap" or speed as the Vifas. All things considered, we decided to choose speed over efficiency and the slightly deeper bass for the production version. However, they still sound great and give you 98% of the EP-1 sound for 50% of the price.   For more information about the design and it's features, please visit the EP-1 page.
